Burnaby Camping Bureau

The Burnaby Camping Bureau provides Burnaby children in families with low income the opportunity to attend the summer camp of their choice.

For many of the children we have helped over the years, it was the first time they had an opportunity to discover the independence, creativeness, challenges, and friendships that summer camp has to offer.

In 2007, we sent 419 children to camp and we hope to increase that number to at least 425 in 2008. Learn more:

How We Help

With your support, we can provide adequate funding to overcome the economic barriers that prevent some of Burnaby’s children from attending one of the many summer camps available.

The Burnaby Camping Bureau helps by giving children the opportunity to face new challenges, build self-confidence, learn new skills, enhance skills learned at schools, make new friends and have fun in a nurturing, safe environment under the supervision of positive adult role models at summer camp.

How You Can Help

:: Provide a summer camp subsidy
Every $150 donation provides a child with a summer camp subsidy. You can commit to providing a summer camp subsidy quickly and easily on-line.

If you would like to commit to providing a child with a summer camp subsidy please fill in our online form.

You will receive a tax receipt for your donation right away.

Please note that in order to send children to camp this summer we need to receive your commitment to send a child to camp by June 15th and your donation by August 15th.

You can also name the subsidy in honour, memory, or celebration; the Tzu Chi Buddhist Foundation is providing 50 children with "Tzu Chi Summer Camp Subsidies" this summer.

Subsidy providers will be recognized in the Burnaby Now and our website at the end of summer unless they wish to remain anonymous.
